Everything in FFXI can be done from the keyboard, you don't even need a mouse.

Also, should you find yourself in a pickup group you don't have to worry about having to set your controller down to type. Add into that tanks & melee with ws/pdt/mdt etc gear sets you'll get a stream of complaints from some of the players using controllers about constant gear changes. Any job that has to cast buffs or spells on party members for the most part. This has probably been debated to death, but it's painfully obvious who uses what especially when it comes to sch, rdm, and whm. The game has not only added new skills for leveling these fight jobs up to the new level cap of 90, but it has also altered, eliminated, and added many new talents for these jobs at lower levels. The ability to select anybody in an alliance instantly makes it worth it's weight in gold alone. The advent of the current Final Fantasy XIV, Endwalker, has drastically altered many fight jobs, including Tanks, Healers, and DPS vocations. When you load up the windower with custom macro sets, you can't beat it. Unfortunately I don't think you can get this model anymore. Is there a third party solution to this? I'd really like to play on PC using the convenience of a controller like I'm used to. Plus, when that button isn't held down, it operates both the movement controls and the menu controls simultaneously with the left analogue stick!

Lastly I just got a Steelseries 3GC, and it has the a similar problem to the F310, I can only get the d-pad to work 100% by using the "toggle" options - by holding down another button. (up and down work but left and right require pushing down and sliding the d-pad, and even then it's iffy). This was the next game after the massively successful Final Fantasy VII that improved on what the Playstation could push as far as detail and detailed 2D backdrops. I've tried the Logitech F310, but the D-pad operates like it is attached with jello. Final Fantasy VIII is a roleplaying game originally released on the Playstation in 1999 and PC in 2000. My subscription ran out yesterday, so I can't post a picture yet, but tomorrow I'll re. Feel free to give a bit of an explanation when it comes to your hotbar choices as well. I've tried the Xbox360 wireless adapter for PC, and the RT and LT triggers don't respond in the config program at all, so no macro access. First of all, this thread is for both PC and Console players, it works the same way as the screenshot thread, but for this thread, you just show off your Hotbar Setup.

I can't for the life of me find a game controller that works 100% like the ps2 or xbox360 controllers do on their appropriate systems. I've been playing on the two consoles for years but recently got the PC version. Check out the new 1-119 guide on BG Wiki. Coming from FFXIV? Check out our FFXIV->FFXI page.
